Who we are

We are one of the very few bespoke industrial boot makers and the only boot shop that is exclusively made-to-measure. Our boots are made in the venerable tradition of Clemons Boot Co. under master boot-maker Bill Clemons. The fit, comfort, durability and serviceability of our boots is unmatched.

Our story

The Journey: From Clemons Boot Co. to Bucks Boots

The story begins in 1980 with the opening of Clemons Boot Co. in Roseburg, Oregon. Walt Clemons and son Bill founded the company to supply handmade, made-to-measure boots to the thriving living industry in the area. Walt and Bill emphasized high quality and impeccable customer service, and over the years made thousands of boots for generations of Oregon’s hardworking loggers, firemen, and ranchers.

Michael Buck was trained in non-traditional footwear making, creating turn-shoe moccasins for clients from Oregon to Texas. When he met Bill, he began spending time at the boot shop observing his process and learning the history of Walt, Bill, and the company. Michael and Bill quickly developed a friendship based on a shared love of story and shoemaking.

In 2022 Bill announced his decision to retire, and Michael introduced the idea of preserving the Clemons legacy by becoming an apprentice at the boot shop. Once Michael received his teacher’s seal of approval, he established Bucks Boots with the goal of building on the estimable foundation of Clemons Boot Company’s legacy and providing high-quality made-to-measure boots to Oregon and beyond.
